Weekly Recap: Edible Keyboards, Fight Club and Celebrity Trainers
This week was an interesting one, with edible keyboards, celebrity trainers, Flight Club and various other surprising topics sneaking their way into our weekly recap. As it’s our job to keep you in the loop with tasty little bites of digital knowledge, let’s crack on!
In the morning, we’re making waffles
I don’t think I’ll ever fully understand our fascination with food shaped as everyday items. Nevertheless, it seems to get people excited. What’s the latest inanimate object to be added to the shockingly long list you ask? It’s an item some of us, myself included, use almost every single day. In fact, I’m using one right now. If you guessed keyboard, you’d be right. A keyboard shaped waffle iron is now available to purchase via Laughing Squid, and it’s sure to be a hit amongst tech-heads and waffle enthusiasts alike. Yep, you can now chow down on a tasty waffle keyboard whilst you type away on a real one, who would have thought?
Break out your active wear
Celebrity trainer Matt Roberts has launched what some have dubbed the ‘Netflix of fitness’, with an on demand offering of workout videos you can access online at your leisure. Cheers Matt, thanks for leaving us with one less reason for being too lazy to visit the gym. Additionally, the service also showcases live classes with Matt Roberts himself, allowing viewers to work out with a trainer that has helped some of today’s biggest stars get into shape.
Tinder with a twist
In a questionable move, developers have released an app which acts similar to Tinder with a Fight Club twist. First came an app to help you find other singles in your area, and now there’s an app that helps users find locals interested in engaging in what their calling ‘recreational brawls’ …um? While we can’t say that we’re for it, it has got everyone talking! And it’s definitely left us with one unanswered question: what on earth will they come up with next? If you’re interested in finding out more, though we can’t imagine why, the app is crowned ‘Rumblr’.
In what is sure to be a tearful farewell for everyone involved, Sony has finally decided to say goodbye to Betamax cassette tapes as of March next year. Yep, they’re still producing them, we’ll let that sink in for a second. Sony has not produced a Betamax recorder since 2002, and now they’ve finally decided, come four months from now, they’ll say goodbye to the tapes for good. Rest in Peace.
And just like that another week done and dusted! But don’t fret, we’ll be back next week to ensure you don’t miss a single digital beat.
