WME Compete In The Australian Corporate Games
Weeks of training came to fruition this weekend, as some of our sporty WME crew took part in the 22nd Australian Corporate Games over the 21-23rd November. Companies of all sizes and sectors came together to compete across a multitude of sports from basketball to AFL. With 300 organisations going head to head in the Melbourne located games, a total of 8,000 employees took part.
WME chose to put their basketball, poker and running skills to the test, whereas the likes of ANZ dominated the games with 1200 employees taking part across lots of sports. Although our basketball team the WME Penguins didn’t finish out on top, they had a great stint on the court and were proud to win two out of the three games, beating Telstra and VicTrack in their group. In true competitive style the teams had a laugh trying to intimidate one another and as with any sporting event a few minor injuries were had, but the atmosphere remained positive throughout, and important funds were raised for the Epilepsy Foundation. WME’s Natasha and Nicole stormed it on the track with personal bests from the both of them in the running event too.
The Australian Corporate Games not only brings employees and organisations together, it also acts a fundraising event and a fun way to keep fit. Check out the photo’s below from the event and we look forward to many more successful games to come!
Thanks to everyone that came down and showed the teams support! See you next year.
